Chynoweth Mission

Dear Friends,  dated: Dec. 28, 2011

Picture Merry Christmas (Belated) and Happy New Year!

The month between Thanksgiving and Christmas evaporated and I apologize for these belated Christmas greetings.

I celebrated Christmas by splitting Christmas weekend between Jim and Jessie and Mike and Michelle's homes. It was a wonderful four days with them and their children.

This past year has been a time of grieving, learning, growing as I've continued to journey on this pathway without Lynn. I've found that the intensity of grief has diminished. I'm no longer in the crisis of it but now learning what it means to persevere in the grieving process. I still have my moments of intense sadness (Like today as I had to take down my Christmas decorations early in preparation for leaving on a ministry trip overseas tomorrow). However, increasingly, I find I'm reminded of Lynn in little and large things with joy and gratefulness for the memories and life we shared. I find the her absence most deeply here at home when it gets pretty lonely with out her. Having Jim & Jessie's family and Mike and Michelle's family nearby is incredibly fun and encouraging. I really appreciate them!

Jim & Jessie are still in Jacksonville, Florida with Isabella (5) and Jackson (2). They are expecting a new little boy in late April/early May! Jim continues to coordinate food distribution for Second Harvest food bank for the NE Florida region.

Mike & Michelle are here in the Orlando area with Michael (3) and Madelynn who was born June 24th. She's a beautiful new addition and much to her mother's chagrin, I've begun giving her crawling lessons so hopefully in a couple of months she'll be all over the place. Actually she's started sitting up in the past week or so.

I'm so grateful for all of your cards, letters and emails. It has been great hearing how you're doing and catching up on your families.

Tomorrow, I leave for 2 weeks in East Asia where, I'll be part of an emerging leader training program for about 24 young national leaders. The second week, I'll be consulting and coaching with regional leadership development/human resources leaders. The new emerging leaders will be launching special "Action Learning Project" teams that they will them plan and implement over the coming year. On Tuesday evening, Jan. 3rd, I'll be sharing my own leadership journey with them. I'll also be speaking at the regional leadership meetings devotionals one morning. Please pray for the Lord's presence and grace to share from my heart what He's teaching me.

Again, many blessings to each of you in 2012!

Joyfully in Christ,

John

Horizons International

Yellow Diamonds

Georges Horizons International exists to demonstrate and communicate the love of Jesus Christ to all people of the world.

Our ministry involves charity and community development that benefits orphans, widows, and impoverished communities. However, since we believe that spiritual issues are at the core of human suffering, our primary focus is evangelism, discipleship, and church planting.

Thanks for visiting.
Georges Houssney,
Director

New Tribes Mission
Kathryn Kreiger   Kathryn

Yellow Diamonds Aircraft

We minister among unreached people groups:
In 2,500 of the world’s 6,500 people groups, there is no church, nor is there any work being done to establish a church. These are the people among whom New Tribes Mission works.

We work in the tribal culture and language:
These tribes’ cultures and languages have isolated them from the Gospel. Missionaries must learn their language and understand their culture in order to clearly present the Gospel and effectively plant a church.

We present foundational Bible teaching:
Unreached people groups have no concept of the God of the Bible. So Bible teaching begins at the same place God began with His chosen people: at the beginning. Chronological Bible teaching presents a foundation for understanding Jesus’ death and resurrection.

We establish mature churches:
Following the pattern seen in Acts as God’s people carried out the Great Commission, missionaries seek to establish mature churches that can take their rightful place as agents of change in their own communities and partners in the Great Commission.
